Save the Date- Suzhou University Fair is Here for You
At Dulwich College Suzhou, we inspire our students to explore their true passions and cultivate personal interests through engaging activities. Additionally, we offer support to students and their families in identifying the colleges and universities that align with their future goals and aspirations.
Next week, on Thursday, October 17, from 4 PM to 6 PM, we will organize a university fair on the Dulwich College Suzhou campus. Over 100+ universities from around the world will gather on our campus, providing families with the opportunity to make first contacts with them!
Do you know what steps to take before and after attending the university fair? Let’s hear some valuable insights from our Counselling team, specifically from the Director of Counselling, Mr Son Hyuk Sang:
Director of Counselling, Mr Son Hyuk Sang
“Before the university fair, I recommend that students conduct preliminary research and prepare questions in advance. It’s important to feel confident in asking any questions they may have regarding scholarships, the application process, admission requirements, and more.
After the fair, following up is crucial. While interacting with admission officers, try to collect their contact information, including their names and email addresses. After the event, promptly send an email to the admission officer. In your email, introduce yourself, share your basic profile, express gratitude for their time at the fair, and ask specific questions to show your genuine interest. Additionally, consider following the school’s social media accounts on platforms like Facebook and Instagram.
For parents, it’s helpful to have conversations with your children to understand their preferences and identify which universities they are interested in and what they truly enjoy. There may be some differences of opinion during these conversations.”
Regarding wellbeing, let’s hear some valuable suggestions from Whole College SEL and UCC Counsellor, Ms Daisy Wang:

“I encourage students to reflect on their preferences and interests. By transforming the unknown into the known, they can identify what they enjoy and what they don’t. For instance, if a student dislikes math, it’s helpful to explore the reasons behind that dislike. They might find that they don’t appreciate the teaching style but enjoy the logical principles involved. Understanding these factors can guide their criteria for selecting a major. The aim is to refine their preferences and uncover their true passions. Even if students are uncertain about their intended major, this approach can help them explore their interests.
It’s also important not to stress excessively about the future. Instead, focus on the present and engage in activities you enjoy. You can pursue your goals using methods that feel effective and comfortable for you. Finally, identifying your core strengths is essential, as these are what distinguish you from others.”
We warmly invite you to join the fair, and we look forward to seeing you there!
