JS Classroom Teacher

Shandre is a South African/British national. She graduated with an Honors Degree in Psychology from the University of Cape Town and a PGCE from the University of KwaZulu-Natal. She will complete her M.Ed. in Educational Leadership in April 2021 with Moreland University, USA. Shandre has been in education for 9 years, mostly for independent and international schools in China, the UAE and South Africa. She also has experience in special needs education and autism.

Recently she has been working in Suzhou at OCAC, as the Head Teacher for the Primary Years Program and as a Grade 5 homeroom teacher. Prior to that she was the Year Leader and a homeroom teacher for Grade 2. Shandre is a marathon runner, yoga teacher, cyclist and swimmer. She also loves traveling, hiking the outdoors and surfing. In her free time, she enjoys drawing and painting. She is an ambassador for Olive' s Children Foundation which was founded by her family to support children in Africa with rare blood diseases. Additionally, she advocates for Rhino Revolution which aids endangered wildlife worldwide. In the local community, she assists the Suzhou Animal Lovers group by helping them find homes for abandoned animals and fund raising.
