Eleanor Chafer
Deputy Head of Senior School (Pastoral)
Ellie is a passionate educator who graduated from the University of Sussex with a BSc (Hons) in Mathematics and Statistics, followed by a PGCE and QTS. With over 20 years of diverse teaching experience, including 11 years in whole-school leadership, she has made significant contributions to schools in the UK before joining DCSZ in 2020. Recognised as a Chartered London Teacher by the College of Teachers, Ellie has had a positive impact on London schools through her innovative teaching methods. As a dedicated advocate for safeguarding, she currently serves as a Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) and a Level 3 lead trainer for mental health first aid, empowering staff to support the well-being of both students and colleagues. Ellie is committed to lifelong learning and has recently completed her NPQH. She believes in the holistic development of every child and uses data-driven insights to create nurturing environments that foster emotional, social, and academic growth.
When she is not in the classroom, Ellie enjoys cooking, walking, and dining out with her family.
