David Cairns
Deputy Head of Junior School
David graduated from the University of Sunderland with a BA (Hons) in English Literature and Language. He completed his PGDE at Strathclyde University in Scotland. David began working in a state school in Kilmarnock, Scotland, before moving back to England where he taught at a school in his hometown of Hartlepool. In 2014, David relocated to Beijing where he worked at two international schools. In his first school, David was responsible for the teaching of English Literature and Language. At his second school, David occupied the role of PYP Curriculum Coordinator and Deputy Head of Primary. David joined Dulwich College in 2020 and loves the peacefulness of Suzhou, with its beautiful parks, lakes and nearby mountains a part of the attraction. In his spare time David loves to cook Italian, Korean and Thai food, play football and compete in Park Run events at Baitang Park.
