- Why Mini Marathon is Important for DUCKS?
- Ms Yolanda Kong, Music Teacher and DUCKS Student Journey Lead
Our DUCKS runners embarked on our first House event, the DUCKS Mini Marathon with their pitter-patter of tiny feet! This delightful event not only brought joy and excitement to the young participants but also underlined the vital importance of introducing exercise and wellness at an early age.
Why a Mini Marathon for DUCKS students?
Physical activity is not just about building muscles; it's about fostering holistic development. The mini-marathon becomes a playground for enhancing gross motor skills, balance, and coordination—all crucial components of a child's early physical development.
Our mini marathon cultivates a sense of camaraderie and teamwork. Children ran side by side, and encouraged one another, fostering bonds that extended beyond the track. The event demonstrated the importance of collaboration and the beauty of achieving together.
Involving parents and caregivers in the event creates a bridge between school and home, encouraging a supportive environment for healthy living. Families can continue to encourage physical activities, making wellness a shared value.
The significance of the mini marathon embodies the essence of fostering a love for movement, teamwork, and the joy of physical activity at an age where every step is a giant leap in development. Our young runners, with their boundless energy and infectious enthusiasm, remind us that the importance of a mini marathon isn't measured in miles but in the smiles, laughter, and valuable life lessons it leaves in its wake. It is an early stride towards a lifetime of wellness and a future where healthy habits are not just learned but lived.
