Whole-School Art Exhibition Provides a Creative Stage for All

The Deep Blue came to life at Junior School SE21 on Tuesday and Wednesday this week as Ms Turner, our Junior School Art Teacher, organized a captivating Art CCA exhibition and workshop. The exhibition showcased the extraordinary creations of our Junior School Art CCA students, who have poured their hearts and minds into their artwork throughout Term 1.

This time, the Art CCA exhibition and workshop centered around the theme "Life Below the Water", aligning with number 14 of the UN's sustainability goals. Since the beginning of Term 1, Ms Turner and the students have dedicated themselves to producing an impressive array of final works, ranging from clay sculptures and paintings to 3D artwork, embroidery, oil pastels, chalks, watercolours, and more. In the Art CCA, Ms Turner not only imparts essential skills to her students but also nurtures their interests and passions for learning.

Parents and siblings of the students were warmly welcomed to join the exhibition, fostering a strong bond between parents and children. This unique approach encouraged active participation, as parents painted alongside their children, with the children taking the lead in teaching their parents. The shared experience created a relaxing and enjoyable atmosphere for everyone involved, fostering a sense of community and family spirit. Moreover, senior school students were invited to participate as assistants, emphasizing the value of collaboration between junior and senior students.

In our bustling world, art serves as a wonderful medium for children to unwind after a busy week. It allows them to explore their emotions, unleash their creativity, and find solace in the colours and strokes of their imagination. It is a sanctuary where they can express themselves freely and find peace in the process.

This Art event is just one among many of our art activities. At DCSZ, we believe that every student is an artist, and we strive to provide opportunities for each student to showcase their unique talents and visions.

As one exhibition comes to a close, another one emerges. Ms Turner and Ms Morland proudly present the Term One Junior School and Senior School Art Exhibition, featuring artwork from Year 3 all the way up to Year 13. Come and experience the incredible imagination of our talented young artists! In the world of art, the sky's the limit, and there are no boundaries to the creative journey. Let's join together to celebrate the beauty of self-expression and the limitless potential that resides within each and every one of us.
