Prioritising Wellbeing & Mindfulness- A Student-Centred Approach
Students come first here at Dulwich College Suzhou and our first ever whole Primary School Minding Me Day was a special initiative designed to nurture positive mental health, emotional resilience, and overall wellbeing among our primary school students.
Through a variety of engaging activities, children explored practical strategies to manage their emotions, develop self-awareness, and build strong, positive relationships.
The day began with class-based sessions where students delved into the concepts of wellbeing and mindfulness, learning how to cultivate a sense of calm, safety, happiness, and respect. Later, they had the opportunity to take part in a wellbeing activity of their choice, with options ranging from swimming, yoga, and art to singing, cooking, and more.
One of the highlights of the day was the introduction of Wellbeing Journals. The children thoroughly enjoyed decorating and writing in them, using the space to express their thoughts and reflect on their emotions. Many students shared that they found the experience not only enjoyable but also incredibly meaningful.
Minding Me Day was a resounding success, leaving students feeling inspired and equipped with valuable tools to support their mental and emotional wellbeing. The enthusiasm and engagement throughout the day reinforced the importance of prioritising self-care and mindfulness in our daily lives.
