IB Success Stories: Jessica – Success through Student Action
Parents often ask what the secret to IB success is. There is never any substitute for hard work, however the environment the school creates that supports and motivates our students to be the best that they can be, is a significant contributor to student success.
2023 Graduate Jessica has studied at DCSZ for 7 years and cites DCSZ’s teachers desire to promote student action as a key part of her IB success story.
Learning through student action
Successful students, like Jessica are independently motivated to explore, to learn and to create. At DCSZ, a core element of how we support and inspire students is to, within the parameters of the set curriculum, learn through activities with are meaningful to them. As Jessica mentions, our teachers challenge our students to reach their full potential in a kind and nurturing environment.
Activities that are generated through student led ideas and guided by passionate teachers create a learning environment that inspires students to gain better results. It also generates a desire to make a difference by taking on global challenges with an open mind.
At what age do you follow your passions?
