Embrace Adventure and Growth - DCSZ Winter Ski Camp @Switzerland
During the holidays, five dedicated teachers from Dulwich College Suzhou took 17 students to the world-famous ski resort of Verbier in Switzerland for an unforgettable school trip. This journey was not just about skiing; it was about creating lifelong memories and fostering personal growth.
Mr Gildersleeve, the staff leader, reflected on the experience: “Life-long memories were created for both staff and students during a week of picture postcard scenery and perfect blue skies. Students came to enjoy a European "Continental breakfast"! Seeing the happy faces at the end of each day on the mountain and listening to students recount their achievements of the day over the dinner table was a personal highlight of mine as it meant I had achieved my aim when setting up this trip, to give the students the opportunity I had when I myself was a Year 8 student in Bath, England, to fall in love with a new activity.

On the last day, Hyeonseo K in Year 12 was asked if she had enjoyed the trip as she said earlier in the week that she had never played in any sports team. Her response was, "Yes, I haven't found a sport I enjoyed before. But now, I love skiing!"
Yu Xiang S, a Year 10 student, shared his thoughts, "I loved improving my grab board jumping and the team-building activities like making cookies and sharing stories in the evenings. Most importantly, I feel I developed my communication skills and enjoyed meeting people from different cultures, such as Ireland." Yu Xiang had previously participated in our EiM Ignite programme in Year 9, spending a term at our HIF school in Switzerland.

This trip exemplifies our commitment to providing students with experiences that go beyond the classroom, helping them to grow into well-rounded, globally-minded individuals.
We are proud to see our students spark positive interests, develop an international mindset and team building skills, amongst an array of world-class opportunities in our school and across our EiM group.
