DCSZ Tigers Roar at Dulwich Games
The annual Dulwich Games took place last week, hosted by Dulwich College Beijing. This eagerly awaited event brought together students from Dulwich International Colleges and Dehong schools, who enthusiastically pushed their physical boundaries in various sports.
A total of approximately 440 students from Years 4, 5, and 6, representing our family of schools, converged on the DCB campus to participate in this thrilling annual event.
Here are what our students learned and thought about the Dulwich Games:
Dean K, Year 4
My name is Dean, and I am a student from Y4. This is my first time attending the Dulwich games. At first, I was nervous because it was the first time getting away from my family. However, It was possible to make a challenge to myself because of my friends, teachers and all the parents who supported me.
My favourite moment at the Dulwich games was watching the 9 different Schools competing. Also, I enjoyed having new friends from other schools I even had a friend from DCSL and played rock, paper scissors together.
Overall, we had a great time with hard work which made us we bring five Trophies back to Suzhou! It was an unforgettable memory for all of us!
Linha K, Year 5
Hello, my name is Linha, and I am a student from Y5. This is my second year attending the Dulwich Games. This year’s Dulwich Games were FANTASTIC! It was a great opportunity to make new friends from 9 different schools, have fun, get awards, and explore new places!
My favourite moment was football because all the Y5 boys and parents were cheering for us! Every time I scored a goal, they would scream at me: “LINHA! DO THE SIU!” And sing our unique DCSZ chant! I would also like to thank the teachers for putting a lot of effort into Dulwich Games.
We brought back a few trophies and medals to be displayed on the shelves to show how hard we worked to get those awards. I am looking forward to the next Dulwich games!
Ethan C, Year 6
My name is Ethan, I am a student from 6C. This is my first time attending the Dulwich Games.
My favourite moment was winning my first Football match, the Y6 Boys team won the Bowl tournament! We had a great time and with hard work, we brought Trophies back to Suzhou! I feel so proud of DCSZ. I am very looking forward to next year’s Dulwich Games!
Our Junior School PE teacher, Mr Ventura also shares his insights with us -
"Our students had an exciting and full day of activities competing in 3 different sports, Swimming, Track, and Field events. All our students did their best and put all the effort they had, regardless of the final result. I think that deserves a big appreciation for our students. They also had the chance to mingle with the students from other school and make new friends! "
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Dulwich College Beijing, our dedicated teachers, families, and everyone involved in making this event a resounding success.
