DCSZ Student Achieves Top in China in IGCSE Results
For this year’s IGCSE results, as we previously announced, 61.4% of all the grades awarded were A*/A, and a fantastic 84.1% of the results were graded A*-B.
Congratulations to Yantong L, who attained the prestigious "Top in China" recognition for Chinese as a Second Language. We have invited this exceptional student to share his experiences and insights on how he attained such outstanding IGCSE results.
Learning is always an interesting yet challenging process. Mandarin learning requires a lot of time for reading and research, especially since it involves writing compositions. To write a good composition, I read more and take notes. Whenever I come across encouraging and meaningful sentences, I write them down.
In terms of sinology, it’s not just about memorizing facts. The Mandarin teacher divides us into different groups and asks us to research specific topics. In the end, we have to present our findings. This approach helps us understand the details of sinology rather than just memorizing information.
I also enjoy playing basketball during my free time, but I always prioritize my academic learning. I review my lessons and complete my homework first. Once I finish my studies, I go outside to play basketball and relax with my friends. In the future, I plan to pursue a chemistry-related major. To achieve my goal, I believe the most important lesson I’ve learned from IGCSE is that maintaining a good balance between study and rest is key.
As the talented student gets ready for his IBDP journey, we would like to celebrate his remarkable achievements and look forward to his ongoing success in Year 12 and beyond.
