Congratulations to Junior School Winners of World Scholar’s Cup

We would like to share the great news with you that 3 of our Year 6 students – Jessie P, Jane L and Lyra P came in first in the regional round of the Scholar’s Cup held last weekend in Suzhou.

The three students came in first in the Junior Debate as well as being the overall champion team. They were also the youngest contestants, and the only team from DCSZ. In addition, Lyra came in 2nd for junior overall individual score and Jane came in 3rd. We are so proud of their achievements!

The World's Scholar Cup (WSC) is an international team academic program with more than 15,000 students participating from over 65 countries every year. The idea behind the World Scholar’s Cup was to create something different than traditional academic competitions and conferences: a celebration of the joy of learning, a tournament as rewarding for the team that came in last as the for the team that came in first, an enrichment opportunity that motivated students not just to demonstrate their existing strengths but to discover new ones. Suzhou was the first of the Regional Rounds and the Global Round will be in Xiamen in January 2023 when our three winners will travel to participate.
