Congratulations to DCSZ Class of 2023!

Today all of our Class 2023 graduates proudly adorned their graduation gowns making the traditional Alleynian walk through the college to receive their formal graduation certificates. Their outstanding achievements is testament to the hard work and support from parents, teachers, friends and the students themselves.  We are incredibly proud of each and every student, not just for their academic success but for how they have grown as young people at DCSZ, just like the beautiful song "Grow as You Go" described at the very beginning of our Graduation Ceremony today from Lucy L and Alvin C. The growing journey is something unique to everyone of our students, and one thing special worth celebrating for this year is our long-serving students.

Dr Mark Jones- Head of Senior School

Graduation is the highlight of the Senior School calendar as we celebrate all the individuals in our graduating class and wish them well in their future endeavours. The Class of 2023 is an exceptional class who have not only excelled academcally but have also forged strong, life-long friendships, with 12 of our graduating class having studied at DCSZ for ten or more years.

I know that the Class of 2023 graduate Worldwise and are ready to take on any challenges they may meet and be successful in their university studies and beyond. On behalf of the teaching staff, it has been a wonderful experience working with you, getting to know you, and sharing your achievements. Dulwich is more than just a school; it is a community, and you will forever be a part of it.

As Dr Jones pointed out, here at DCSZ, our students form life-long friendships which become the most precious memory for all. Nothing is better from the testimony of our excellent students:

"If there is one thing we’ve learned, it’s that your experiences and memories in themselves do not define your character – instead, it is what you do with those experiences and how you derive meaning from the lessons you learn."  - Aylin H, Head Girl

"We have shown compassion towards one another, understanding that although we were not all in the same boat, we were all weathering the same storm. We should always strive to be compassionate towards one another, engaging in mutual vulnerability to foster genuine inclusivity, new ecosystems of support, and well-being." - Justin Y, Head Boy

We celebrate the success of our students; we celebrate the success of our staff as well as our families. Now, they will embark on a new journey to some of the world’s top universities, creating new exciting experiences, building careers and making a positive difference in the world.

Mr David Massiah- Head of College

In conclusion, what do I wish you? An enduring understanding of grit, that pressure will make you tougher and beautiful. Perhaps in a dark brittle moment an alumni or someone else will connect with you, you will find spiritual help or something else as you dig deep within. Pursue happiness for yourselves and in others in all that you do hereafter. Students take care, stay connected and continue to look after each other. Please leave here knowing that I am proud of you and that you are equipped for success, for happiness; now go out and make that difference. Congratulations!

Congratulations to the graduating class of Dulwich College Suzhou, 2023!
