An Amazing Success: DCSZ at the World Scholar’s Cup
On the weekend of the 3rd and 4th of June this year, 33 students from DCSZ attended the World Scholar’s Cup regional round in Hangzhou. The cup is a competition where scholars come together to debate, write and be tested individually and in teams on the theme for that year. Our teams from both Senior School and Junior School did fantastically well picking up a treasure trove of medals and some Alpacas too!
Despite being one of the youngest teams in the competition, the students from Dulwich amassed a total of 250 medals and trophies; more than any other school that participated in the competition. It was amazing to see our school community come together and a personal highlight for me was the way that the students cheered each individual’s success at the award ceremony.
The World Scholar's Cup (WSC) is a global academic competition that challenges students to explore a wide range of subjects and develop their critical thinking, teamwork, and communication skills. Participating in this competition can be a transformative experience for students, offering numerous benefits that go beyond just winning medals. Many of our participants this time will go for the global rounds later this year, and we wish them all the best for their performances.
Congratulations again to all the participants and we look forward to welcoming more students next year.
