Dulwich Suzhou Affiliations

Our network of schools has relationships and shared events with leading universities and organisations. Our students have attended masterclasses with artists and educators from the Berklee College of Music, Northwestern University, the Royal Irish Academy of Music, the Royal Northern College of Music and Trinity College Dublin. We have hosted academic presentations from the Universities of Cambridge, Bristol, Sheffield and St. Andrews, among others. Our Colleges have hosted debate workshops with Georgetown University and leadership seminars with Stanford OHS, and our teachers have participated in professional learning programmes with Duke NUS. Johns Hopkins University Centre for Talented Youth has tested some of our students and run workshops with our teachers. The Oxford Mathemagicians and a capella groups from Harvard, Yale and Princeton have also performed for us.

 

International Baccalaureate (IB) Programme Accreditation

Our College is accredited by the Council of International Schools (CIS), the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) and NCCT. With Cambridge International Examination (CAIE) and EDEXCEL accreditation we offer the IGCSE programme and with International Baccalaureate World School status, the IB Diploma Programme.

The College was inspected by the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI) in October 2016 and given the highest grade possible, ‘excellent’, for every aspect of the life of the College. This also means Suzhou meets all the requirements of the Standards for British Schools Overseas.

Further, our College is certified to offer SATs and is a member of the Boarding Schools Association. Our Beijing and Shanghai campuses are also audition centres for Berklee College.

The Deputy Master (External) from Dulwich College inspects our College each year to ensure we maintain the Dulwich standards of excellence. ISI accredited inspectors from our founding school evaluate all areas of our College, including our delivery of the curriculum.

The College was inspected by the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI) in October 2016. The ISI is a UK government-approved body that conducts objective inspections to safeguard the quality and effectiveness of the education, care and welfare of children in British schools overseas. We were given the highest grade possible, "excellent", for every aspect of the life of the College. This is a rare achievement and we are the only school in Suzhou to have this accolade. Along with our outstanding IGCSE and IB results this firmly establishes our College as one of the best international baccalaureate world school.

School Heritage

A global non-profit membership organisation that provides services to primary schools, secondary schools, and higher education institutions. The community includes 729 schools and 556 colleges and universities representing 112 countries.

ISI is an independent, government-approved body that  provides objective inspections to safeguard the quality and effectiveness of the education, care and welfare of children in schools.

WASC is one of six official academic bodies responsible for the accreditation of public and private universities, colleges, secondary and elementary schools in the United States and foreign institutions of American origin.

FOBISIA aims to promote a British style education system in schools throughout Asia, and gives students the opportunity for collaboration and friendly competition through its annual sporting and musical festivals.

CAIE is a provider of international qualifications, offering examinations and qualifications to 10,000 schools in more than 160 countries.

ACAMIS is a non-profit association of over 50 international schools in eastern Asia with the aim to broaden education dimensions, advance professional growth, and promote international friendship within the participating schools through activities, events and competitions.

The International Baccalaureate® is a non-profit educational foundation offering four programmes of international education that develop the intellectual, personal, emotional and social skills needed to live, learn and work in a rapidly globalising world. Schools must be authorized by the IB Organization to offer any of the programmes.

A close-knit community of heads and deputy heads of school spanning 90 countries across six continents. Members are at schools with different curricula systems and language offerings. 

Edexcel is the brand name for academic and general qualifications from Pearson, including (I)GCSEs and A levels.

The Boarding Schools’ Association (BSA) is the United Kingdom association serving and representing member boarding schools, training staff and promoting boarding education in both independent and state boarding schools.
