Mary holds a Bachelor of Music Education degree with honours from the University of Western Australia where she majored in classroom, piano and vocal pedagogy. She has taught music at all levels and directed choirs at over twelve different schools in China, Singapore and Western Australia. Most recently, She was Head of DUCKS (Early Years) Music at Dulwich College Shanghai, taught PYP and MYP Music at Western International School of Shanghai and was Choral Music Specialist at St Hilda's Anglican School for Girls and St Stephen's School in Western Australia.
Mary's passion is Choral Music. A highlight last year was singing with the Rolling Stones in their Shanghai concert. Mary also led the soprano workshops for students at the ISCMS Choral Festival at Dulwich College Beijing and rehearsed students for masterclasses with the King's Singers, Richard Gill and countertenor Justin Kim. She has also prepared students, conducted, accompanied and performed solo with the Vienna Boys Choir in Austria. As a singer, she has performed in various W.A Gilbert and Sullivan Society's productions including Princess Ida, Trial by Jury, Iolanthe and The Mikado in which she played the title role of Yum Yum. She has also appeared as soloist with the Lieder Society, Collegium Musicum and Collegium Symphonic Chorus. In Singapore, she performed with the Victoria Chorale and has won several International choral competitions. She has a keen interest in broadcasting and was previously Programme Manager of Singapore's classical music radio station, Symphony 92.4FM.
