Head of ELL
Carolina was born and raised in Montreal, a wonderful city in Quebec that represents a mosaic of different cultures and languages from around the world. Due to her exposure to different communities, Carolina has developed a deep appreciation for cultural and linguistic diversity. Quebec's unique identity has enabled her to learn French as a second language. Furthermore, in keeping with her own ethnic traditions, Carolina can speak some Italian.
Carolina graduated with an honours degree in Religious Studies from Concordia University in Montreal. Upon graduating, she moved to Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam where she taught Junior School ELL at Renaissance International School Saigon. Afterwards, Carolina moved to South Korea where she taught ESL/EFL at Gyenam Elementary School. After six years of teaching abroad, she moved back home to continue her education and earned a Master's degree in Second Language Education from McGill University. Carolina is passionate about bridging the gap between ELL and mainstream classes to support students exiting ELL with transitioning into mainstream English.
This is Carolina's fourth year teaching at Dulwich College Suzhou and her first year as Head of Primary ELL, which includes DUCKS and Junior School. She is excited about the upcoming year and all the new learning that lies ahead.
